In support of the bushfire appeal, many individuals and businesses donated books to help those affected rebuild their personal library collections.
This wiki site was set up to enable people to submit a request for books that had been lost or damaged in the bushfires. Our volunteers searched the donated items for books, by title where possible, but more often by genre, that matched these requests.
However, demand has been so great that we are introducing a new system for the distribution of books, which will enable people to choose titles personally and to collect them from local access points.
The following libraries have received an initial delivery of new and mint-condition second-hand books for distribution. Please contact them direct to check opening hours and stock levels (the books may go quite quickly). The books are free for blue-card holders to take away. You don’t have to belong to the library but you might like to consider becoming a member while you are there and gaining access to a lifetime’s supply of free books.
